About Bryan S. Hawkins

Bryan S. Hawkins has devoted his entire legal career to a single area of the law: Georgia workers’ compensation. That focus, sustained across two decades and more than 1,500 settled cases, is what he now brings to the mediation table as a neutral.

A 2006 graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law — where he served as Vice Chairman of the Moot Court Honor Society — Mr. Hawkins earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 2003. He was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2006 and is admitted before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the federal district courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.

A Career on Both Sides of the Claim

Mr. Hawkins began his practice on the defense side, representing employers and insurers in Atlanta — including time with the firm of Hall, Booth, Smith, P.C. He then returned to his hometown of Augusta to open his own firm representing injured workers before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation. Having advocated for both employers and claimants, he understands how each side values a case, what drives settlement, and where disputes most often break down.

Mr. Hawkins is a graduate of the mediation institute operated by Henning Mediation & Arbitration Service, Inc., one of Georgia’s longest-established dispute resolution organizations. He is completing his registration as a Registered Neutral for civil matters with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution.

Community and Outside Interests

Beyond his practice, Mr. Hawkins serves as a Chancellor and Vestryman of Saint Paul’s Church in Augusta. He coaches youth baseball through the Columbia County Recreation Department and, when he is away from the office, can usually be found on the golf course or in the stands at a Georgia football game.
